The Justice Department said on Wednesday that Ebber submitted a petition for commutation of his sentence of 25 years for the Office of the Pardon Attorney. In prison the former WorldCom Inc. Chief Bernard Ebber joined the list of high-profile corporate defendants petitions for clemency in the last days of President George W Bush mandate. The petition is under review, Justice Department spokesman said Laura Sweeney.
